BLT Toast
Serves 24 appetizers

Ingredients
8-10 slices bacon
1 cup chopped lettuce
1 clove garlic, minced
1/4 tsp. ground pepper
2 small loaves French bread (16 oz.)
3-4 Roma tomatoes, seeded and chopped
2 tbsp. chopped fresh basil leaves
1/4 tsp. salt
1/3 cup olive oil

Preparation

  • Cut French bread in 1/4-inch slices.
  • Brush olive oil on both sides of bread slices; place on baking sheet. Bake at 400 degrees until crisp and golden brown. Allow to cool.
  • Cook bacon until crisp. When cool, break bacon into small pieces.
  • In medium bowl, stir together the rest of the ingredients to make topping.
  • Spoon about 1 teaspoon of the topping on each toast round.
