Ingredients
2 cups no-salt-added tomato juice or low-sodium vegetable juice
2 tbsp. lime or lemon juice
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1/2 tsp. prepared horseradish
3-4 drops hot pepper sauce
Ice
2 celery sticks (for garnish)
Preparation
- In a small pitcher stir together tomato juice or vegetable
juice, lime or lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, horseradish,
and hot pepper sauce.
- Pour mixture over ice in glasses. If desired, garnish with
celery sticks.
Cook’s note: Tomatoes are a top 10 healthy food. While
tomatoes are high in vitamin C, they are also prized for their lycopene.
A powerful antioxidant, lycopene may lower prostate cancer risk.
Cooked and canned tomatoes may have more lycopene activity than
uncooked ones.
