Stir &
Shake Kids’ Chili Joes
Serves 5
Ingredients
2 Tbsp. olive oil
1/2 onion, chopped
1/2 green bell pepper, chopped
1-1/2 lbs. ground beef
1 Tbsp. chili powder
1 (12 oz.) bottle tomato-based chili sauce
1 1/2 cups water
1 (15 oz.) can kidney beans
Preparation
- In a large skillet over medium heat, cook onion and bell pepper
in olive oil until soft.
- STIR in beef and cook until brown. Sprinkle
chili powder over mixture and pour in chili sauce.
- Fill empty chili sauce bottle with water and SHAKE
to remove remaining sauce. Pour remaining sauce and water into
pan.
- STIR in beans and simmer 15 minutes before
serving on your choice of bread.
Cook’s note: This flavorful chili is great for kids who
don't like spicy foods. And, it's so easy – stir, shake, stir! |
